SMUSH #25 - march update!
WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE NOT POSTED SINCE DECEMBER??? to make up for it, have this 30 minute drone ep i guess?
i have been on a drone kick in terms of music-making lately, for some reason. with three tracks totaling 30 minutes, i felt i might as well just make it an ep :3
i think it is still sort of rough, so i want to polish it a bit more, but once i do that (and come up with a decent cover) i’ll put it on bandcamp. for now, hope yall like it! each of the songs uses field recordings i’ve recorded during my commute. in that sense i suppose the ep has a bit of a public transit theme :>
anyway! it has been a while, hasn’t it? the past three months have been pretty great for me, all told!
- got to see my long-distance partner for a week in january, which was just lovely. hoping he can visit again soon! we got to do so much, but those few days went by so quickly…
- realized just how freeing polyamory is, this is definitely right for me. i have met so many lovely people, and it’s wonderful that i now get to call some of them my partners <3
- been really feeling a sense of community lately! going to board game nights thanks to my girlfriend, and i’ve been spending time with them and eir other partners, which has been great :3
- volunteered for the first time yesterday, at a symposium about queer entrepreneurship! got to talk to the other volunteers and feel useful, and i even got to partake in a lovely lunch and dinner at the event. it was a lot of fun :D
- bought a few new cds :3 stereotomy by the alan parsons project (one of my favourites by them), pinkerton by weezer, and brat by charli xcx. the latter is an album i’d actually never even heard before deciding to buy it because i knew my partner really liked it, and i was not disappointed. seriously great album
- on top of everything, i have been really feeling the effects of hrt. noticing a lot of really affirming changes, notably a good amount of breast growth
all in all, there is a lot in my life to be happy about right now. i feel like things have really turned around. thanks for catching up with me, love yall <3
